Live Performance of 'Loud Shirts' Thekla, Bristol

"Getting on board with this band wasn’t going to take much for us. With a vocal as strong as Chay Snowdon’s, the vocal easily grips you and drags you right into the thick of things.” Nexus Music Blog.

Chay Snowdon are an Indie Pop/ Indie Rock n’ Roll four-piece outfit based in the South West. With Liam Roberts providing anthemic guitar riffs on lead guitar, George Roach complementing Ed Fox’s strong and powerful drum parts, with his thick and simplistic bass lines. Which when put together provide a sublime wall of sound for Chay Snowdon to add his chugging rhythm guitar and uniquely powerful vocals.

The band have smashed two UK tours, taking their brand of Indie Rock ‘n' Roll to the ever-increasing crowds, having huge success selling out The Mothers Ruin in Bristol three weeks in advance as well as The Underground in Plymouth.

Chay and the band were recently invited to perform a live session for BBC Introducing in the West, “He has always been a great song writer and now he is making his songs sound absolutely fabulous I’m very proud to get him into the white room”  Sam Bonham, BBC Introducing in the West. “The three songs are simply wonderful”  Richard Pitt, BBC Introducing in the West

The Band have also enjoyed playing some amazing festivals such as Liverpool Sound City, 2000 Trees, Grillstock, Y-Not Festival, Dot To Dot Festival, Home Farm Festival, Oceanfest, Boardmasters, Chagstock and Looe Music Festival.

Other massive shows include The British Fireworks Championships and Radio Plymouths Bonfire Night Celebrations on Plymouth Hoe to crowds of around 10,000 people. As well as supporting The Sherlocks, The Hot Sprockets, Jordan Allen, The Snuts, Hunter And The Bear, Glass Caves, Red Faces, Ink and Vant.

Reviews of 'Mon Cheri' & 'Sha La La'

‘Mon Cheri’ is a fast paced, mosh pit banger that is sure to make you sweat at a Chay Snowdon gig.’ Let It Happen

‘Jam-packed with pulsating guitar riffs, crashing drum beats and explosive vocals, the song is a high-paced and high-volume banger that beckons to heard live’  Candid Magazine

‘Sha La La exposes a more delicate and graceful side to their sound. The ballad-style track effortlessly blends crooning vocals and gentle instrumentation, while the lyrics tell a tale of living fully in the moment’ Candid Magazine

‘Both tracks extremely different from the other but still featuring Snowdon's silky vocals it's easy to see why their fan base is growing so rapidly’ The Alt Journal

‘The solo before the build in the song makes me so incredibly happy because it leads up to one of the most perfect key changes I think I've ever heard’ The Alt Journal

‘Mon Cheri’ & ‘Sha La La’ show range, style, energy and class’ Hey Nineteen

'With an instantly recognisable voice and musical craftsmanship to match, Snowdon is onto something special!’ Eudaemonia

‘Chay Snowdon are an indie rock band at heart (and a damn good one) but through the voice of Chay, which clearly takes influences from classic rock & roll and R&B, they have serious crossover appeal’ Hey Nineteen

‘High-paced and high-volume, ‘Mon Cheri’ is a ride from start to end’ The Other Side Reviews

‘Sha La La A song that will make you hold your lighter out within the audience at a show’ Its Ez Breezy

‘Mon Cheri’, a classic indie-rock romp that borrows from garage-rock and glam in terms of the energy and the crashing drums mix perfectly with the chiming guitars to make a frenetic racket that is surely an absolute belter live’ Listen With Monger

Live Reviews

“He owned that Stage, he has got the tools to make an absolute go of it” Richard Pitt BBC Introducing in the West talking of Chay Snowdons Main stage performance at Looe Music Festival.

"Chay has talent in droves and the charisma and confidence to match. His voice is strong and clear, he throws out guitar licks with abandon, he’s real storyteller and looks perfectly at home on the stage". DOWN THE FRONT MEDIA

"I inadvertently caught Chay Snowdon’s impressively confident set. The ear piercing shrieks from the teenage girls next to me, and the near hysterical reactions when Mr Snowdon climbed down to pose for photos with them suggest that his star is definitely starting to rise". LOUDER THAN WAR

"Having completed two UK tours, sold out shows in Bristol and Plymouth, supported The Sherlocks, JUDAS, VANT, The Snuts, Glass Caves & Oddity Road and performed at both Camden Rocks and Looe Music Festival, these two singles couldn’t have come at a better time for festival organisers and promoters to get a feel for the quality sound that Chay and his band produce".
